Geocaching Adventure 12

I originally had 9 caches planned out, I was going to take it to 26 and Romeo Plank, but we went to get food at Bellacinos first and started our caching off right after that by going to Just Washington #2. This was right by Home Depot, so we parked as close as possible and kept looking low and finally I raised my head to see a little thing dangling from a keychain ring and contained only a log. The whole time there was a guy chilling in front of us but the tree blocked us.

across 26 mile there were 3 caches so we set out to find Under the Boardwalk. This one took us sometime we walked over the boardwalk looked around and finally I got on my hands and knees and reached behind a pole to find it. It was no visible but something told me to look there, we took another travel bug - Steamboat Bound to Abby and I hope it winds up in its destination.

After that we slightly moved over to find Higher Standards, Lower Prices- Urban Wild Life. It was across from a creek so we finally found a way to get over and a little path. After a few minutes I quickly found it buried in pieces of bark.

So we only did 3 of 9, we went over to play soccer at Whispering Woods before school, hopefully weather will be nice tomorrow.

Geocaching Adventure 11

My brothers gf dragged him into this one and our littlest brother went to. I did not really know where to go so I looked for an easy sounding one in Riverbends. So I found Just around the River Bends. This was located in the parking area right between main entrance and the bar across the river. We all quickly got out and walked all the way down the trail and less than 1 minute from getting close to the cache I quickly found it.

Nothing to special about this my brother moped around the whole time.

Geocaching Adventure 10

This was wrote the day after it took place.

I just got off work and was planning on doing some geocaches all day, after work. So we went and quickly ate at Taco Bell and headed straight to Lakeside Island a little island that is towards the SE corner of the lakeside mall area. We parked in the catering restaurant on hayes and walked all the way down till we seen a sidewalk that took us to a bridge that is the only way to access the island. I just put in w/e coords so we wound up doing the furthest one first, and closet one last so it all worked out well there are 3 different caches on the island.

The first cache was named Lakeside Island. For this we walked down the coast, to see plenty of ducks, geese and little ducks. We finally found a opening in the woods and coasted in and the coords took us to Zero, but nothing was in the area, after 10 minutes, we were looking else where when I seen a huge tree knocked over so i started walking to the base of it since that is what the clue was. I found the little bowl covered with bark.

The second cache was kind of in the middle island but on the brim of the forest, but like 40 ft in. Sweet Land Of Liberty was a real easy find, we found a path to walk in from the previous cache and I was walking first (navigating) when Jamie behind me, yelled she found it, sure enough she did. We took our first traveling bug. Traveling Keychain Collector. From here it was time to finish our last cache on the island.

The final cache was right to the side of the bridge, NJB's Surprise so we went down the sides and looked with no luck for about 20 minutes. I kept going up and down to see what the GPS was saying, one of the times I slipped and fell backwards on my elbow and my side. I fell on top of a rock and the edge of it broke from impact, I went to look at the logs for it today and the 2 previous people said they could not find it. Make me the 3rd.

Geocaching Adventure 9

The next few caches were unsuccessful as we concluded our trip for the day, we would wind up trying 4 more caches. The first one was within walking distance from Lambardo Park so we went straight to the sidewalk and crossed over the bridge to look for: It's Driving Me Nuts. We quickly got off the path and went down to the bottom park to look for the cache, after awhile of no luck we walked back up to the top to look, also no luck, so we split and still no luck. after about 30 minutes we finally threw in the towel and headed for Posted Along The Way. This cache was off Remer rd on 22 mile and we took it until the dead end where the cache was supposed to be, when we got there we seen some man working in his backyard and decided to come back another day and let the man enjoy the pleasant sunday afternoon.

The next cache Cito container #1 - Victory Cigar was behind the Louis pizza on 22 and Van Dyke, in the corner with a few trees and a thousand leaves plus a bunch of trash and glass. After 20 minutes, we gave up, all it was, was garbage and leaves.

After 3 straight fails. We went for our 7th and final try of the day, was AAGPBL in Whispering Woods off of 21 mile road. This was a puzzle cache and we thought we had the right answer or at least narrowed it down, to two cords but neither appeared correct so once again we had to quit and rethink, Its kind of sad there is no way to check the coords besides google maps but what help does that really do for this?

After blogging this a day late, due to time, it will probably be another day or 2 before we head out and look for more.

Geocaching Adventure 8

After we ate lunch we headed back to 22 mile road and right to the east of it, is a little park called Lambardo Park, there were 2 caches supposed to be here 1. Lambardo Park and 2. Eat em up Tigers. We did not attempt to do Eat em up Tigers because I was assuming they are in Center Field of one of the diamonds so we said we would do it another time. But we did go after the Lambardo Park cache by heading north, past the play area and then we seen an opening to get into the woods and only needed to travel 20 ft but it was water, so we headed 70 ft out of the way to find a spot to cross. We found the cache hidden in a tree, on a little island and took a knocked over tree to get back to the other side and try to find the next cache of the day.

Geocaching Adventure 7

#7 was Scenic Forest Walk. We just finished Hideout in the woods and moved west to find a trail and let me say this, it was really scenic. But anyways we headed down the trail and followed it until it took us to an area that was open but had a few trees and we looked around for awhile, following the GPS, Jamie was looking else where and about 20 ft from the destined coords was the cache hidden between trees. We signed the little log book and decided it was time to eat lunch, took us over an hour to do these 2 caches. We had a plan to hit up about 6 of them today and these were the first 2.
